“The Big Train” was one of baseball’s greatest pitchers playing 21 seasons with the Washington Senators. He is the career leader in shutouts with 110 and ranks second in career victories with 417. Johnson led the league in strikeouts a record 12 seasons and had 11 seasons of 20 or more victories, leading the A.L. six times in that category, including a career high 36 in 1913. He won American League MVP honors in 1913 and 1924 and helped the Senators win back to back American League pennants (1924, 1925) and a World Series championship in 1924. He was a member of the inaugural class elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. Choice clipped signature affixed to Baseball Hall of Fame postcard plaque.
